Trash & Recycling

By Ordinance, Chalfont Borough has a single waste and recycling hauler for all residents. The purpose of this requirement is to reduce the number of large trash trucks going traveling the borough streets, and the number of days a week that trash is placed curbside. Because of their special needs, businesses are exempt from this requirment, however, small businesses may opt in to the contract at residental pricing.

The borough has awarded a new three year trash contract to the lowest bidder, our current hauler, Advanced Disposal. The new contract begins on June 1, 2013, with a standard rate of $238.20 for the first year and a senior rate of $214.38. This is a substantial savings over the current contract of $350 per year. Under the new contract, you will continue to have once per week trash and recycling collection, but  the RecycleBank component has been discontinued due to program costs and low resident participation. Single stream recycling will continue with your existing toter. (Please note that Lindenfield Townhome and Condo Associations, and Pine Creek Condos contract with a private waste hauler. The following resident waste collection information is not applicable. However, the cardboard dumpster at Public Works is available to all residents.)

Recyclebank members have one year after the end of a contract to use up any existing points they have accumulated. You can also continue earning and using points as a "digital member" by going to www.Recyclebank.com web site and participating in the "Rewards for Green Action / Education" learn and earn educational programs.

Information is also available on this website for Household Hazardous Waste recycling. Please check the Events section for this year's schedule.

Advanced Disposal (previously DBA Interstate Waste) Customer Service number is 866-342-5497.
