Either download the Building Permit Application from the Zoning - Documents, Forms & Permits page on this site or come to the Borough Office any weekday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. for assistance and paper forms.
Please be aware that all contractors must be registered to work in the Borough and be properly insured. The Contractor Registration Form is also available online or at the Borough Office. The Contractor Registration Fee is $50.00 annually (Jan-Dec).
Please call The Borough Office at 215-822-7295 if you need assistance completing the Application. The Building Inspector/Zoning Officer, Dan Jenkins, and his staff are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 1 p.m to 4 p.m. to answer your questions.
The Permit is given a number and processed by the Zoning Officer who will contact you when the Permit is ready, usually within two weeks.
The Building Permit Fee is determined by the schedule set forth in Chalfont Borough Resolution 2007-8. The applicant is called with the amount due when the Permit is ready for pick-up.
Dog licenses are obtained through the county. Contact the County Court House at 215-348-6000 for further information.
The Chalfont Borough polling place is the United Methodist Church, 11 Meadowbrook Lane, Chalfont, at the corner of Meadowbrook and West Butler Avenue (Route 202).
Polls are open from 7 am until 8 pm.
A Use and Occupancy Permit and its preceeding inspection is required whenever borough realestate is bought or sold or occupancy changes (as in rental units or businesses.) There is a $75 fee to apply for this permit (available to download or at the borough office) and includes a first and, if needed, a second inspection. There is a $25 charge for each subsequent inspection.
If you wish to solicit in the Borough of Chalfont you must stop by the Police Station, 40 N Main Street, and complete an application for a Solicitation Permit. Office hours for applications and permits are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
ALL PERSONS in your group must appear in person and fill out individual application (Example: 10 people=10 applications.) These must be filled out in person at the police station. NO EXCEPTIONS.
All applicants are required to supply the following:
1. $10 non-refundable application fee per person
2. PLUS one of the following fees per person: Daily Fee or
$25; Weekly Fee or $150., paid only after applicant is cleared by
background check.
3. Two forms of identification
4. Two passport size photos (for police department records
only)
5. Background check on every one in group individually. This is
done by the Chalfont Police Department and takes 24 or more hours
to complete.
ALL NON-PROFITS (RELIGIOUS & GOVERNMENT) MUST STOP BY THE POLICE STATION AND INFORM DUTY OFFICER WHAT GROUP YOU ARE, HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU HAVE AND HOW LONG YOU INTEND TO BE IN THE BOROUGH.
