Medication

The Central Bucks Regional Police Department in conjunction with the County of Bucks participates in the Medication Collection Program.  Bring your unwanted prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) drugs to the year-round permanent drop-box located in the lobby of the Chalfont Borough Administration Building, 40 N. Main St., and your medications will be disposed of safely.

Drug Drop-Box

ITEMS ACCEPTED:  prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications, tablets, capsules, patches, nasal sprays, vitamins, inhalers, and pet medications.  NO LOOSE PILLS PLEASE.  Keep pills in their bottles (feel free to remove any labels, but it’s not necessary), and any loose pills should be placed in a Ziploc bag before disposal.

NOT ACCEPTED:  injectables, needles, illicit substances, creams, ointments and lotions, hydrogen peroxide, thermometers, needles/sharps/syringes, and any aerosol cans.

Please Note:  expired/unused Epi-pens will ONLY be accepted if the needle has not been discharged and is still in its original protected & unexposed position with the needle safety cap still in place.  This requirement is necessary to help ensure the safety of the person emptying the drop-box and/or handling its contents.  DO NOT put any discharged or exposed Epi-pen needles or any other needles, sharps or syringes into the drop-box.

Office hours for drop-box access in the Borough administration office are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (closed on holidays).  Feel free to call 215-822-7295 before stopping by to make sure the office is open.
