Frequently Asked Questions

How do I respond to a traffic or non-traffic citation?

When you receive either citation, you have 10 days to respond. Failure to respond may result in an arrest warrant being issued for your arrest. In addition, PennDOT may suspend your driver's license.  The District Judge for the Borough is Judge Gaffney located at District Court, 962 Town Center, New Britain, PA 18901 (Magisterial District No. 07-2-08). A response can either be given in person at the courthouse or by mail.

How do I respond to a parking ticket?

Parking tickets are issued under the authority of either Borough Ordinances or the PA Motor Vehicle Code for parking restrictions in certain places.  If you fail to respond to a parking ticket, the issuing officer may withdraw the ticket and file a traffic citation which may cost you significantly more than the initial ticket. Parking ticket payments may be mailed to the Police Department or dropped off in person.

How do I obtain a copy of an accident report?

Reports can be obtained for a $15 fee by contacting the Police Department at (215) 822-2606 or in person at the police station.
