Ordinance 423

Chalfont Borough Residents:

Chalfont Borough Council recently approved Ordinance 423. Key points of the ordinance have to do with door-to-door solicitation:  requiring permits for door-to-door solicitation; how residents can post their property or sign up to not received door-to-door solicitors; and defines penalties for violations.

Click here to read Ordinance 423 in its entirety.

Approved door-to-door solicitors must show their Borough of Chalfont Solicitation Card (photo of solicitor will be on the back of the card).

If you would like to prohibit door-to-door solicitors from knocking on your door, you may post a “No Solicitation” sign on your property.  This form can also be found on our Forms Page.

You may also register for Chalfont Borough’s Do-Not-Knock listing. Solicitors applying for a permit will be given a listing of addresses that they are prohibited from calling on (the registration will also ask you to provide a last name and email address but this is for Borough use only – the solicitor will only be given property addresses).

Central Bucks Regional Police Department should be notified of any unwanted door-to-door solicitor as this may be an indication of unwanted community activity.
