Commission Openings

Planning Commission Opening:   Currently there is an open position on the Chalfont Borough Planning Commission.  Anyone interested in serving their community on this commission is welcome to complete a volunteer form to apply.

The Planning Commission consists of five members, headed by a chairman, and their duties include the review of all land use and construction plans. Our Commission works with the Bucks County Planning Commission to develop uniformity between the Borough and the County. Recommendations by the Planning Commission are then forwarded to Borough Council for review and action. Members are appointed to a four-year term. Filling the open term will end on 12/31/2022 and at that time the person can ask to be appointed to another 4-year term. Chalfont Borough Planning Commission meets as needed on the 1st Monday of the month at 7:00pm.

Civil Service Commission:  The Police Civil Service Commission provides for police officer employment, testing, certifications, and disciplinary actions. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis.  Commission members must be a qualified elector of Chalfont Borough. Elected officials are not permitted to serve on the Commission. All Commission members serve in a voluntary capacity.

Toys for Tots: Fill the Cruiser!

Saturday, November 17th from 10am – noon, CBRPD Officers will be stationed in the police parking lot at 57 West Court Street in Doylestown to help collect Toys for Tots!

Brighten the holiday for local children in need. Bring an unwrapped, unopened, non-violent toy for either boys or girls ages newborn-14 and help us fill the police cruiser!  We invite you to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, cookies and conversation with an Officer!  Please join us and spread the word for this worthy cause!

Request for Proposals

Chalfont Borough, Bucks County, Pennsylvania is requesting proposals for Traffic Signal Maintenance.  Call 215-822-7295, email info@chalfontborough.com or click here for Proposal Forms.  Proposals due to Chalfont Borough, 40 North Main Street, Chalfont, PA 18914 by 9:00 am on Thursday, December 6th.  Bid opening same time.  The proposal shall include the price for the annual preventive maintenance work and the hourly rates that will be charged for response maintenance.  The contract shall be for the remainder of this year with three (3) potential one (1) year extensions beginning on January 1, 2019.

Bagels with the Borough Manager

Come out this Friday morning from 9am to 11am at 40 N. Main Street to have Bagels with the Borough Manager.  She will answer questions, take complaints, take compliments and generally just be there to meet and great with our awesome residents! Hometown Heroes

Chalfont Borough Council is excited to present the Hometown Heroes Program honoring our local Veterans.  The Chalfont Borough Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a living tribute created for the community to recognize and honor our Veterans who are serving or are veterans who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces.

To qualify, a Veteran, living or deceased, must have had a connection to the Borough of Chalfont.  They must reside in Chalfont Borough, or the person purchasing the Banner must reside in Chalfont Borough.     The Banner will be 24” x 48” heavy vinyl, printed the same on both sides, and will display the service person’s photograph, include their full name, branch of the Military and the era of service (WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc.)  Banners will be displayed from May through Veterans Day in November in observance of all Military Branch birthdays.  Banners will be removed and stored until the same period in the following year at which time they will be redisplayed until November 2020….The 2019 – 2020 Banners will then be returned to the applicant.

Please fill out the application form and follow the directions for securing this tribute to your veteran.  The applications will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
