ReadyBucks Weather Alert

This is a message from ReadyBucks

A Winter Storm is forecasted to impact Bucks County with 12 – 18 inches of snow, will begin late Friday evening, and last through Sunday morning.  The storm is also forecasted to have wind gusts up to 35 mph. White out conditions may occur.

Residents should begin storm preparations prior to the event. Travel will become extremely hazardous. Please limit non-essential travel during the storm and allow our emergency responders and public works crews to do their jobs safely.

The storm may contain high winds. Power outages are not uncommon during these large snow storms. Make sure your mobile phones are fully charged. Do not touch or go near downed power lines. Report power outages to PECO at 1-800-841-4141.

Chalfont Borough asks that you avoid on-street parking during the winter storm, for 12 hours after snow has stopped, and at any time during snow plowing to facilitate getting the roads cleared. Depositing snow back onto Borough roads, walks, or near any fire hydrant is also prohibited.

Be sure fire hydrants are cleared of snow and ice. Quick access to the hydrants is vital to the fire department in an emergency.

-Please remember your homebound or elderly neighbors and assist them with snow removal.

-Remember your pets. If at all possible, bring your pets inside. No matter what the temperature is, wind-chill can threaten a pet’s life. Pets are sensitive to severe cold and are at risk for frostbite and hypothermia.

Stay up-to-date by tracking the storm and receiving updates from the National Weather Service – http://www.erh.noaa.gov/phi/emerman.php

Chalfont Borough Emergency Management will be monitoring the progress of the storm and additional updates will be sent as needed during the event.

Parking Survey

Parking is currently restricted on all borough streets during those times. Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/cbparking to fill out the survey online. If you don’t have access to the internet, please call the Borough or stop by and we can collect your answers for you. Participation in this survey will allow your voice to be heard.  There are only 4 questions so it should take less than 1 minute of your time. Thank you for your input regarding this matter!
