Mayor Marilyn J. Becker
Mrs. Becker has a 20 year tenure as Mayor of Chalfont Borough. She also served 8 years on Borough Council, her last term as Vice President.
The Mayor supervises the administration of the Police Department and its employees, including preparation of the annual budget.
The Mayor may cast a tie-breaking vote at Council meetings, but is not a member of Council.
The Borough Charter stipulates that the Mayor be recognized as head of the Borough Government for all ceremonial purposes.
The Mayor serves a four year term. To serve, the Mayor (and Council members) must be qualified to vote in the Borough, and shall have been residents continuously for at least one year immediately preceeding their election.
